Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Hilde’s belly dance classes! Lots of fun and laughter await!
However, before the fun begins, please do the boring job of reading through the following terms and conditions.

Payment

  • Your registration is not valid until you have paid the fee in full.

  • Please make your payment BEFORE the beginning of the first class and bring a receipt upon arrival to class.

  • If you need to pay in instalments, please contact Hilde before the start of term, and we will find a solution.

  • There are no credits or refunds after term has commenced.

  • Unattended classes may not be converted to tickets or to private lessons.

  • If you chose to cancel your booking later than 1 week before the term / workshop starts, a 20% administrative fee will be deducted from your refund.

  • A doctor’s certificate is required for a full refund if you cancel your booking later than 1 week before the start of the term / workshop.

Lost classes / catch up

  • If you miss a class, you may take another class at any point during the same term, to make up for the lost one. (Beginner 1 students may take their catch-up class in the following term, as the other classes will be too advanced for them at the time).

  • Catching up classes must be done before the end of the term, and lost classes cannot be transferred to the following term.

  • If Hilde is sick, she will get a substitute teacher whenever possible. If class has to be cancelled due to lack of substitute teachers, the lost class will be held at the end of term, or you will get at voucher to take the class whenever it suits you during next term.

  • A class may be cancelled due to insufficient number of students. Students in that particular class will be offered to attend another class of their choice.

  • If the term is cancelled for one reason or another on Hildes’s part, a full refund will be given.

Medical / health

  • Belly dance is healthy and fun and suitable for women of all ages, sizes and shapes, but if you have physical issues, (aches, illnesses, pregnancy etc.) please seek advice from your doctor before signing up for class.

  • Please let Hilde know if there is something she needs to pay extra attention to regarding your health issues at the beginning of the first class.

  • Hilde will always do her best to help her students prevent injuries while dancing, but cannot be held responsible for any injuries that may occur while dancing during class, performance or during private practice.

General courtesy

  • Please respect your fellow students and teacher by being on time, avoiding disturbances in class by a late arrival or early exit. Time is precious in class, and we all want to make the most of it!

  • All choreographies are made by Hilde. You are most welcome to use them in performances, whether privately, at festivals or in huge public events. However, it is nice if you credit the choreographer, if possible. (e.g. printed programme, if you are introduced from the stage etc.)

  • You may NOT use the choreographies learned in class for your own teaching / classes.

  • Please do not film in class without Hilde’s consent. Fellow students would like to keep their privacy.

  • Hilde will always dance the choreography at the end of the term, for students to film it, so they can remember it more easily. Please do not upload this to any social media or to the internet. This is a service for students attending class, only.

  • If some students in class don’t have the possibility to film Hilde dancing, please share your recording with them.

  • Please switch off your mobile phone during class.

Safety/insurance

  • The studio is located in Hilde’s garden. The garden is steep and there are steps.
Students enter the location at their own risk.

  • By entering the property, students accept full responsibility for their own safety while on the location.

  • By entering the property, students accept that they waive all rights to sue Hilde for any falls, slips, injuries or accidents that might occur on the property.

 Happy hips!
 Hilde
